Finally, we get what can be described as a unique installment in ReelPlay’s 10K Ways series, and judging by the reception of the 2 previous releases (Hypernova 10K Ways and 10,000 Wonders 10k Ways), it was perhaps not the best of ideas to start a brand new series with a game that was so similar to the Megaways version, followed by a reskin job. Bananaz 10K Ways is a charming jungle slot where the animated Monkey Mike is by your side at all times.

Looking past his many antics, he can also run behind the reels to transform symbols into multiplier wilds at random times in the base game. The audiovisual presentation is nicely done, but the background jungle/monkey sounds may annoy some players, at least after a while, so it’s a good thing they can be turned off while keeping the regular sounds. The Cascading mechanic removes winning symbols, which allows new symbols to drop down to fill the gaps, and this goes on as long as you keep winning.

The Mike Goes Bananaz feature may trigger sometimes when you don’t land a win, and you will then see the monkey climb behind the grid to transform 1 to 3 symbols into Monkey Mike Wilds with a random multiplier of x1 to x5 attached. We weren’t too impressed by the 2 previous 10K Ways installments from ReelPlay, as Hypernova 10K Ways was very similar to the Megaways version, and 10,000 Wonders was essentially a reskin job. Bananaz 10K Ways is a step in the right direction for this series however, but we still think 10K ways would go well together with a 10,000x potential. Instead, you can win up to 5,622x your stake in the Respins bonus round, and up to 3,225x is possible from a base game spin.

There is nothing too complicated going on in this third installment, and the Monkey Mike antics and screeching will charm some players and annoy others. The multiplier wilds he delivers can make a dent in the base game though, and the Respins round is quite enjoyable without offering anything too special. The gamble feature can be tempting, but you should probably be more careful with it than we were. The Megaways engine on “cruise control” keeps cruising it seems, and it will be interesting to see where ReelPlay takes this series next.
