Super Cash Drop Gigablox Review

With only Jumbo Jellies squeezed in-between, Yggdrasil YGS Master, Bang Bang Games, has decided to release a new version of their recent Super Cash Drop already. As the title more than indicates, Super Cash Drop Gigablox, comes with Yggdrasil’s trademarked dynamic reels engine, and it’s further enhanced by the Super Reel Expand mechanic that expands the grid at random times.

Visually, the 2 installments are very similar, not to say identical, but you get 6 reels instead of 5 this time. The math model has undergone some drastic changes though, as the 95.5 % RTP, the 22.86 % hit rate and the 7,024 potential have all been sliced significantly for whatever reason. The features are pretty similar overall, except for the Gigablox, of course, and we only wish the stats would match the far more solid line-up you get in the first game.

Super Cash Drop Gigablox Features

The mid to high pay symbols award between 1.5 and 2.5 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and the Wild symbol pays 5x your stake for the same. The wild also steps in for all regular pay symbols to help complete winning combinations, and the Gigablox mechanic gives you 2x2 to 6x6 sized symbols on every spin. Both wilds and scatters can land as Gigablox, and Gigablox count as 1x1 symbols.

The Super Reel Expand mechanic will kick in at random times, and this expands the reel set with extra rows and paylines. You’ll thus play with between 4 and 6 rows at all times, and this gives you 40, 50 or 60 paylines, respectively.

The Super Stretch Wilds feature makes sure that all wilds that land expand to cover the entire reel, and a multiplier equal to the number of original wilds in the stack that landed becomes attached to the expanded wild.

Sometimes you trigger the Locked Wild Respin feature when Super Stretched Wilds land, and this happens when at least one expanded wild has a golden color. All Super Stretched Multiplier Wilds in view will then lock in place after the first win calculation, while the remaining reels respin. Each new wild that lands awards a new respin, and the feature can potentially fill all 6 reels with super stretched multiplier wilds.

You need 5+ scatter symbols anywhere in view to trigger the Super Free Spins feature, and you get 1 free spin per triggering scatter. This means that up to 36 free spins are possible from the get-go (with a maxed out grid), and you also get +1 extra spin added to your tally per scatter you land in the bonus round.

All low pay symbols are removed during the feature, and super stretched multiplier wilds always lock in place for a respin when they land. The bonus round plays out on the maxed out 6x6 grid with 60 paylines.

Finally, non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can purchase the bonus round via the Bonus Buy feature.

Review Summary

The grid is less dynamic in this follow-up release, meaning it can expand to only 6 rows instead of 8, and this is probably to compensate for the added Gigablox mechanic that awards up to 6x6 sized symbols on each spin. The Super Stretch Multiplier Wild feature is the same though, and the locked respin feature can potentially crack the 7,024x potential with a bit of luck.

The potential might have been reduced from 20,000x, but to be fair, given the win history of the original release, around 7,024x is probably a more realistic max win anyway. The 95.5 % RTP is not really a deal-breaker either, and we know this is done to be accepted in all markets until some kind of RTP ranges system is in place. Overall, this is a decent money-themed Gigablox installment, although the stats came as a bit of a shock to us at first glance.
