With what looks like the ruins of the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, 3021 The Bounty Hunter Gigablox takes you on a dystopian future adventure with the SK-1000 cyborg by your side. Set in 3021 AD (exactly 1,000 years into the future from the year of release, in other words), everyone is left to fend for themselves in the post-apocalyptic and toxic environment.

The intro video is quite impressive, and the base game is all about the randomly triggered wild feature (involving the SK-1000 firing laser rounds at the reels). The Gigablox you land on every spin is enough to create decent tension in the base game, but the 16.05 % hit rate is pretty low for a medium volatile game. While there was definitely enough here to pique our curiosity, our 200 spins test session revealed a few things we’ll talk more about in the conclusion below.

The Wild Reel bonus seems to trigger more often during the feature, and the SK-1000 will randomly select a multiplier between 1x and 25x that applies to any win.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may buy the bonus round at any time, but this option is definitely not available for UK players. It will set you back 100x your stake, and this awards up to 25 free spins. It’s something to consider though, given that you’ll trigger the bonus round organically only once every 321 spins on average.

Review Summary

3021 The Bounty Hunter Gigablox comes across as an overly ambitious project, but without the budget to back it up. Yggdrasil/Reflex are taking their chances when they blatantly use a Thanos-lookalike from the Marvel universe as their top-tier symbol. It might be a minor detail, but it’s a bit annoying that the SK-1000 cyborg has to get back in the standard position between each time he fires his laser gun during the same wild reel feature. Why not have him blast it all out from the hip in one motion instead, and actually make it look cool.

At first sight, and after reading the elaborate backstory, this looked like a massive Hollywood-esque production. It doesn’t take too many spins however, before you figure out that you’ve walked into a medium-budget Terminator 2 spin-off (complete with a green-eyed Arnold/T1000 lookalike). Free spins with guaranteed multipliers (although 1x is possible) is a decent enough feature, but the 3,714x max win sticks out as one of the lowest potentials in the Gigablox series.
