There is no doubt that Fantasma Games usually live up to their name when it comes to creativity and imaginative releases, but they’ve still not had a proper mainstream smash hit to this day. Caravan of Riches is far from their most daring effort, but we don’t see it holding too much mainstream appeal even so. The Silk Road feature is a bit unusual perhaps, but it fizzles out as a watered-down hold-and-win style feature without jackpots or extra spins.

It delivers okay payouts here and there during the base game grind, and it can also provide scatters that may lead to the bonus round. The latter is all about upgrading symbols which also provides extra spins, and the Silk Road feature can trigger during the free spins round as well. We’re not all that impressed by Caravan of Riches to be honest, and there are plenty of better alternatives in the symbol swap genre.

Despite the semi-unusual reel set, and somewhat unconventional features, Caravan of Riches is one of their most “mainstream” efforts so far. However, you just don’t get the sense that the creative developer has poured all that much time and effort into this production, at least not compared to some of their previous installments.

The Silk Road feature is kind of clever though, and it plays out like a lite streak respins round with only one spin. Still, it’s mostly useful for top-up payouts in the base game, but it can be helpful in triggering the bonus round. The scatter collect symbol upgrade system is hardly innovative, but the extra spins you get can keep the feature going for a while. Overall, this is a mediocre shelf-filler release from Fantasma, and far from their most creative display.
