With the shady looking Stagger Inn pub on the left-hand side, and the Police Station on the other side, Storm Gaming captures the East End of London in the 60’s quite well. The visual style is cartoonish, and it looks intentionally dated with matching sound effects. You’ll get plenty of drive-by action here, with police always hot on the bad guys' tail.

These car chases trigger random features like low value symbol removal, and even a random bonus round. Players familiar with Megaways titles from Storm Gaming will not find anything new or surprising in Megaways Mob, except perhaps the unusually low 94.4 % RTP. It’s hard to understand why they’ve gone with such a lousy stat this time, and it’s pretty much a deal-breaker when they have plenty of almost identical (featurewise) titles where the theoretical returns are decently above 96 %.

The mafia duo is the wild symbol, and it can slide in on the horizontal top reel only. It will step in for all regular pay symbols, like wilds usually do. The cascading wins feature (or reaction wins, if you wish) means that all winning symbols are removed from the grid.

New symbols drop down from above to replace them, and this process repeats as long as you keep winning.

When you land 3 bank symbols anywhere on the same spin, you trigger the Pick’em Bonus Game. You will then pick from 3 banks to “rob”, and this awards a win multiplier of either 10x, 20x or 50x. The Metropolitan police badges are mystery symbols, and all instances transform into a randomly chosen matching pay symbol at the end of a spin.

The mafia duo can drive by the reels sometimes, and throw dynamite onto the grid. This either removes all low value royal symbols, or it awards a random number of free spins with a random starting win multiplier. The regular bonus round is triggered when you land at least 4 scatters anywhere in sight.

This gives you 12 free spins, and you also get 4 extra spins per extra scatter you land above the minimum of 4.

The progressive win multiplier starts at 1x, and increases by +1 for each cascading win. New scatters can land in the top reel only, and you get 6 or 12 extra spins when you slide in 3 or 4 scatters, respectively.

Review Summary

Storm Gaming is showing no sign of becoming more experimental when it comes to their Megaways titles, and Megaways Mob follows the same formula we’ve become used to since Monster of Rock Megaways. It’s not a bad formula at all, but we would love to see some more creativity at this point. Visually, the game looks a bit dated also, but the brick and mortar sound effects indicates that this might be intentional.

The royal symbol removal might lead to decent base game payouts once in a while, but you’ll need the bonus round to get close to the 76,000x max win potential.

As impressive as that sounds, the win cap is the usual £250,000. The biggest change from previous releases is the unimpressive way-below-average 94.4 % RTP. Unless you really enjoy the mafia theme, you’re better off playing another Storm Gaming Megaways title. The features are more or less the same anyway.
