The Trojan War was epicly depicted in the Brad Pitt movie, Troy, based on Homer’s famous poem, The Iliad. We are sure there were plenty of mysteries contained in the walled off city of Troy, but 12 Trojan Mysteries refers to the 12 symbols that can initially be randomly chosen as Mystery Symbols when the bonus round starts.

Of course, you’ll benefit from mystery symbols also in the base game, and it’s highly unusual to be able to win as much as 10,000x your stake from triggering the bonus round. 12 Trojan Mysteries Features

The golden apple wild can land on any reel, and it steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combos. The trojan horse acts as a mystery symbol, and all instances of it will transform into a randomly selected symbol if a winning combination can be formed from it.

You trigger the Mystery Free Spins feature when you land at least 3 scatters anywhere in sight. Up front, you’ll be awarded a scatter win of 10x, 100x or 10,000x, respectively, if you land 4, 5 or 6 scatters on the same spin. During the bonus round, you get +1 extra free spin per scatter that lands, with no upper limit.

You’ll start with 12 free spins however, and the Mystery Meter above the reels will randomly select a symbol per spin. All pay symbols are included in the meter, as well as the golden apple wild.

All 12 symbols are removed from the Mystery Meter in chronological order per spin, from the lowest value to the highest. The wild symbol is therefore always selected on the final spin. Non-UK players can purchase the bonus round via the trojan horse menu down to the left, and this will set you back 50x your stake. The bonus buy feature does not affect the 96.5 % RTP.

Review Summary

With the excellent 3 Secret Cities fresh in mind, 12 Trojan Mysteries feels like a step back for 4ThePlayer when it comes to the visual presentation.

That is one heck of a pre-feature payout to say the least, and you might win up to 20,000x your stake in the bonus round. The chronological removal of symbols increases the tension per free spin, leading up to a grand finale where the mystery trojan horse turns into the golden apple wild. The random selection is a somewhat innovative use of the mystery symbol feature, but many times it’s far from being very effective.
