Troll's Gold is not as complicated as the aforementioned installments, but it does come with a collector symbol you’ll see on rare occasions in the Treasure Trove Re-Spins feature. The golden wild symbols land on reels 2 to 5 only, and they step in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combinations. The wilds can land with multipliers of x1, x2 or x3, and multiple multiplier wilds in the same winning combo means that the respective multiplier values are multiplied with each other up to a maximum of x81.

Landing a stack of matching pay symbols on the first reel triggers the Lock-in Re-spins feature. The triggering stack, plus any wilds and/or matching symbols on the grid, becomes frozen in place for a respin.

Any new matching symbols or wilds that land become sticky as well, and the feature goes on until you land no new sticky symbols or fill the screen. If the latter is the case, a random multiplier of x2, x3, x5 or x10 will boost your total win.

The Treasure Trove Re-spins bonus round is triggered when you land a stack of gold coin bags on reel 1. The reel set moves underground, into a cave filled with gold, as the regular symbols are removed while only the triggering gold bags remain frozen in place. The hold-and-win-style feature comes with a single respin life only.

You thus need to land at least one new non-blank symbol per respin to keep the feature going, and only gold bag money symbols, treasure chests collectors and blanks will land. The coin bags award multiplier prizes of 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x your stake, while the treasure chests collect all values currently in view.

All coin bags and treasure chests that land become sticky, and their gold is also collected in a meter on the right-hand side.

You need to collect at least 12 symbols to win a prize from the meter, and this adds 10x your stake to the total win. Collect 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 symbols, and you’ll be awarded with 20x, 50x, 100x, 200x, 500x, 1,000x or 10,000x your stake, respectively.

With the release of Troll's Gold, Relax Gaming is fortifying their position as the “uncrowned king” of hold & win style games. It’s far from being as massive and intricate as their mega hit, Money Train 2, but you get well-balanced gameplay combined with a solid math model. Multiplying Wild multipliers can lead to 1,215x payouts in the base game, and the occasional Lock-in Re-Spins feature is also a welcome break from the grind.
