Epic Treasure Review

Max Win Gaming keeps experimenting with features borrowed from Relax Gaming’s Money Train saga, and their previous effort, Golden Gods, was highly inspired by the legendary MT2 bonus round. Epic Treasure comes with a top row where special chest symbols can appear, and these serve as collector symbols for Extra Prizes up to 100x that can be attached to regular premium symbols in the base game.

The 5x4 grid is set in a treasure island bay of sorts, with steep cliffs on either side, and the symbols spin in front of a giant treasure map. Things can reach epic proportions if you’re lucky enough to land one or several Epic Chests in the bonus round, as all collectors chests are sticky and can collect individual prizes up to 1,000x your stake. This is how you’re most likely to crack the 5,000x potential, although regular symbol payouts can be quite decent as well.

Epic Treasure Slot Features

The premiums, or Major symbols as they are called in the paytable, pay between 24 and 60 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and there is no wild symbol to help you out in this game. What you get instead is random Extra Prizes that can be attached to the Major/premium symbols. These Extra Prizes are worth between 2 and 100 x your stake, but they only pay when Special Chests appear unlocked on the top bonus reel.

There are 3 types of chest that appear on the top reel per spin, and these are closed/locked chests that do nothing, as well as small and epic chests. The Small Chest will collect all Extra Prizes on the reel directly below, while the Epic Chest collects all Extra Prizes present on any of the reels.

The Bonus Round is triggered when you land 3 treasure map scatters anywhere in view, and this awards 10 free spins. You can expect more Extra Prizes during the feature, and they now come with values up to 1,000x your stake. What’s more, any Small and/or Epic Chest symbols that land remain sticky on the top reel for the duration of the feature. Prizes are collected by all chests that are present, just like in the base game.

You get a good taste of the base game grind, before we finally trigger the bonus round with 3 scatters at 1:46 into the 2:52-minute highlights video. We landed both a small and an epic chest towards the end of the feature, which was enough to rake in a few decent prizes.

Review Summary

We like the computer game style visuals Max Win Gaming has come up with in Epic Treasure, and the sea shanty soundtrack is quite engaging as well. You can win up to 2,400x your stake from a single spin, outside of the Extra Prizes, and the extra prize system is a clever MT-inspired innovation. It spices up the base game with some thrilling moments here and there, as you wait for the bonus round to trigger.

Landing an Epic Chest or two early on will certainly raise your pulse, not least since the extra prizes can go as high as 1,000x during the feature. The chest symbols act like the collector symbol from the Money Train range, but here you can land solid regular symbol payouts as well. We quite enjoyed this somewhat simple and straightforward creation, and the overall 5,000x potential is pretty solid as well.
