The Infinity Reels engine never took off the same way BTG’s Megaways engine did, and ReelPlay, as well as other developers, have pushed it in different directions looking for that mainstream breakthrough. You start out with a default 3x4 grid, and any win involving the rightmost reel adds another reel to the grid.   In addition, it adds 1 heart to all surrounding Grower symbols per level up.

Just to be clear, when we say ‘surrounding’ it means adjacent symbols that connect either vertically, diagonally or horizontally. The number of skulls needed to level up cannot go below one.

Finally, if available in your jurisdiction, non-UK players can purchase the Level Up Respins bonus round for 100x the total stake. The Infinity Reels engine has been teetering on the ‘almost famous’ edge for a good while now, and Money Mariachi Infinity Reels might just represent a tipping point. One thing we would suggest however, is a math model that allows for far more reels to be added on a regular basis. It’s the reel-adding mechanic that makes the base game fun after all, but starting over all the time before even 5-10 reels are added leaves you with a sense of dissatisfaction that only keeps building.

The bonus round alleviates that notion in this game however, since you can keep expanding the hold-and-win grid indefinitely and even win the +12 reels 888x Infinity Jackpot. The Day of the Dead theme is vividly done, giving this Infinity installment a somewhat ironic ‘aliveness’ we haven’t really seen with this engine before.

The MT2-inspired bonus round can go on for a good while as you work your way towards the very solid 50,000x win cap, and it will be interesting to see if this revival is the start of a new direction for the ReelPlay series.
