Gods of Rock is perhaps inspired by the Righteous Brothers 1974 hit song ‘Rock and Roll Heaven’, where the chorus goes like this: “If you believe in forever / Then life is just a one-night stand / If there's a rock and roll heaven / Well you know they've got a hell of a band”. You’ll find 2 types of wilds in this game, and both are hands displaying ‘the sign of the Horns’ you’ll typically see a lot of in a rock concert audience. The regular wild simply steps in for all regular pay symbols, while the other is a Charged Wild that comes with special abilities we’ll take a closer look at below.

The Dropping Symbols mechanic removes all winning symbols from the grid, and new and/or existing symbols will then cascade down to fill the gaps.

This feature goes on as long as you keep winning, and it can thus lead to indefinite extra wins from a single paid spin.

The Charged Wild will increase the reel multiplier by +1 wherever it lands, and each reel multiplier can go as high as x11. All payouts involving a reel with a multiplier are boosted, and if more than one multiplier reel is involved the respective values are multiplied with each other. All reel multipliers are reset between each dropping symbols sequence.

The Charged Wild explodes after it has boosted the reel multiplier, and this removes all adjacent symbols. The wild then turns into a regular wild as it tumbles down to fill the lowest possible empty position. The exploding symbols are collected in the Bonus Meters on either side of the grid, and you need to explode 30 symbols to trigger the Wild Encore feature.

The Wild Encore feature adds 1 to 3 Charged Wilds in random positions at the end of the Dropping Symbols sequence.

This triggers more explosions to keep the tumbling process going, and you need to collect 30 exploding symbols in the same spin sequence to trigger the feature. The meter resets between paid spins, in other words.

You trigger the Gods of Rock Bonus Round when you collect 55+ exploding symbols in a single tumbling sequence. This awards 8 free spins for starters, and reel multipliers are carried over from the base game. The Reel Multipliers do not reset between spin sequences like in the base game however, and filling the equally non-resetting Bonus Meter adds +3 extra spins to your tally.

Illuminati themselves could hardly have come up with a more seductive and hardcore ensemble, and the math model and features are even more hard-hitting than the audiovisual presentation.

Just like a proper live performance, the features conspire to build up to intense and highly satisfying climactic moments.

Charged wilds build reel multipliers, while exploding symbols to fill the bonus meter that might get you more charged wilds and/or the bonus round. The 20,000x win cap is ‘rock solid’ too, and Thunderkick has created an epicly fun rock slot that sticks out from most installments in the genre.
