The paytable of Crystal Vault offers a set of 10 pay symbols, and they all come with nice designs. Those show planes, three animals, and female adventurers. Female adventurers pay the most, and two of the high-paying symbols actually pay out even in sets of just two.

In terms of special symbols, there are Dinosaur Wilds and Crystal Scatters. Dinosaur Wilds can substitute for other symbols, and they can appear only on the middle three reels. Their full potential is then unlocked during free spins, which you can trigger by finding enough Crystal Scatters in view.

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Crystal Scatters triggers the Free Spins feature with 8 free spins.

The game actually calls them Bonus Respins, though the actual mechanics are closer to free spins than respins. Now – while Crystal Scatters can appear anywhere on the board during the base game, they appear only on reels 2 and 4 of the original playing field during free spins. Landing two of them during free spins resets the counter of free spins back to 8, and it also unlocks a new reel set, to a maximum of 3.

Although Lightning Box won’t revolutionize the slot gaming industry with Crystal Vault, the slot does feel like they are trying to reinvent themselves, and that’s something that we’re really happy about. It’s an enjoyable package that we’re getting here, and it’s one that we can recommend to all players, as you simply don’t get to play with as many as 3 playing fields at once all that often!
