Dragon's Breath comes with their signature cartoonish visual style, and the fire-breathing dragon animation is impressive to behold in the bonus round. The mythical beast is surprisingly tame in the base game though, curled dormantly around the 5x5 grid while observing the Cluster Pays action with curious, unblinking eyes.

Naturally, your chances of success are increased in the bonus round, where the dragon finally comes to life and spits fireballs onto the grid. You need between 6 and 25 matching symbols in a cluster to win, and wilds can land anywhere to help you out in that regard. Wilds step in for all regular pay symbols, but they hold no value of their own. Special Flaming Wilds are present only in the bonus round, which we will get to below.

Landing 5-oak on 2 reels at the same time triggers the Double Flames feature.

Rabcat releases don’t come along that often, and their “perfectionist” approach tends to increase expectations accordingly. While being audiovisually pleasing, as most games are from this Vienna-based developer, Dragon's Breath can’t escape being a bit of a disappointment. Players looking for a mid-range, casual and visually entertaining ‘good time’ might enjoy this, but there is nothing here for more serious gamblers.

The Double and Triple Flames features can arguably be said to be somewhat innovative, but you’ll not see them very often. The Dragon bonus round didn’t seem all that hard to trigger though, and it certainly comes with impressive animations. The weak 1,250x potential is another story altogether though, but as mentioned above, the casual fantasy crowd might enjoy this release for a while.
