Fantasma takes you into a parallel reality in Rich Raptors, in which the dinosaurs didn’t go extinct many millions of years ago. Instead, they evolved into self-conscious beings that went on to create a human-like civilization. The statue of liberty is, of course, a dinosaur as well, and their version of New York can be seen in the background. Meteor showers might be an omen of this civilization's impending doom, however, around 66 million years overdue.

The retro visual style with the jazzy soundtrack seems inspired by the roaring 20s, and the raptors are sharp dressers that look like mafioso types. The meteor shower feature kills off dinosaurs and other pay symbols, but not winning symbols, wilds, or bonus symbols. This is also how you increment the resetting and persistent win multipliers in the bonus round, and the latter is unlocked if you collect enough bonus symbols to fill the extra spins meter.

Review Summary

The retro visual style is quite pleasing, and it reminded us of Push Gaming’s Dinopolis. Rich Raptor is a very different game, however, but you’re still taken into a world where anthropomorphic dinosaurs have created a whole civilization that closely resembles our own. The meteor shower feature is a nice touch, and we also like that the city in the backdrop gets bombarded with meteors at the same time. The feature doesn’t usually make a massive impact in the base game, however, but it can help trigger the bonus round.

Things definitely heat up when the main attraction is triggered though, and this is where the meteor showers truly shine. They increment the win multiplier per cascading sequence, while also building the persistent multiplier.

The latter can be hard to unlock, admittedly, but it will probably make a solid dent when you get there. We have no complaints about the 8,024x potential, and Fantasma’s Rich Raptors adds up to a solid contribution to the dinosaur slot genre.
