Christmas slots are all the rage whenever the holiday season rolls around, and Swintt decided to celebrate the 2022 Christmas season by reskinning their Heart of Earth slot from 2019. It’s not much more than a reskin, really, and it takes place on a basic playing field with 5 reels, 3 rows and 5 paylines.

In terms of visuals, the designers just threw a Christmas skin over the original graphics, and, if we are to be absolutely honest, it’s all a bit rough. It’s no wonder, really, since the original came out back in 2019, and online slot gaming has moved a fair bit since then. Doing a reskin without any real updates didn’t really pay off in this particular case, but at least Swintt didn’t have to invest a lot of effort into this Christmas release.

The game’s low pays feature just your usual card ranks, while its high pays show various contraptions and the slot’s wizard character. Interestingly, all high pays pay out even in sets of just two, which is a nice detail.

For specials, there are Portal symbols that work as both Wilds and Scatters. That means that they can not only substitute for pay symbols in combos, but also trigger the Free Spins feature.

Land 3 or more Portal symbols to trigger the Free Spins feature with a total of 10 free spins. They follow the usual “Book of” formula, which means that you’ll get one of the pay symbols selected as Lucky symbols. No matter how you look at it, Heart of Earth Xmas is just a bland redesign of a slot that wasn’t particularly interesting in the first place, so it's only logical that the final product isn’t worth anyone’s attention.

Swintt can certainly do better than this!
