The proud native american indians were at the top of the food chain, and their favorite animal was the buffalo. What are the bonus features?

The base game doesn’t come with all that many bonus features, but you find just enough to keep you somewhat entertained while you wait to trigger one of the highly potent bonus rounds.

The Dream Catcher is the wild symbol here, and it will step in for all regular symbols to help you form winning combos. It also shares the top spot in the paytable together with the buffalo, and pays 50x for 5 on a payline.

The eagle totem symbol is the scatter in this game, and it will help you trigger 3 different free spins features. Prairie Multiplier spins

Is a somewhat similar feature to the above, but here you collect glowing framed buffalo symbols to attach multipliers to the animal symbols along the same progressive meter. You need 5 special symbols to fill one animal meter, and this increases the multiplier with +1 up to 5x. The buffalo symbol also benefits from the achieved multiplier, and you get +2 spins for each upgrade.

Land 5 new special symbols, and the next animal gets a 3x multiplier, while the first 2x animal is also upgraded to 3x. You can thus upgrade all animal symbols with a 5x multiplier if you reach the top of the meter.

Stampede Super Bonus

Combines the 2 other bonus rounds into one highly potent mix, and gives you 12 free spins. This means that you will not only convert the animal symbols into high-paying buffalos, but also benefit from the multiplier that gets added.

The 200 Spins Buffalo Hunter Experience

The first 100 spins are not included in the video highlights, as they were pretty much completely uneventful. With this kind of volatility you should expect nothing less, and we landed a long-winded sequence of dead spins with minor wins sprinkled in between for good measure. We started our last 100 spins with our hopes high, as we felt our luck was about to turn.

Already after a few spins into our final 100 spins we got a taste of the mystery symbol, which landed heavily on the 2 first reels. It turned into the low value 10 symbol however, so we won only 2x our stake. The following spin gave us a scatter tease, and we were kind of fed up of those at this point.

We therefore decided to throw in the towel, and simply pay for the bonus round instead of grinding around even more in the base game. We went for the Super Bonus round, of course, and paid a solid 1,920 euros for it. This landed us 5 scatters, and we were super excited to see how our 12 free spins would play out.

It took a few dead spins before we landed a smaller win, and then we also landed enough glowing framed buffalos to upgrade the first animal on the ladder. We kept getting minute wins for a while, and then we upgraded the second animal, which meant that we now benefitted from a lot more buffalos and all of them with 3x multipliers attached.

Our wins were now more decent, like around 2x to 5x, but with only a few spins left we were beginning to worry. Our first “big win” of around 15x came with only 2 spins left to go, but then we upgraded the third animal. This gave us some breathing space, and now we landed a solid 264x win. We needed only 1 single special symbol to make the next upgrade, and had our fingers crossed like crazy on the final spin.

It went on for what felt like an eternity before the last reel finally stopped, and by some miracle we got the special symbol we needed. With only 5x multiplier buffalo symbols and royals on the reels, we won 500x on the first extra spin and 100x on the final spin. All in all, we got away with 917.75x our stake, which gave us a nice 317.75x profit.

Review Summary

While Buffalo Hunter doesn’t really offer anything brand new, all the parts have been put together nicely for a super volatile ride through the north american prairie. The base game is pretty basic though, and you’re really just hanging in there for one of the bonus rounds to trigger. The combination of 2 more basic bonus rounds into a Super feature is not unheard of from NoLimit City, and their solid wild west title, Deadwood, immediately comes to mind.

Also this game is made in such a way that buying the free spins gets very tempting after a while, but the price of the biggest enchilada is not exactly cheap. The game feels a bit more generic than some of the better games from this developer, but the 12,647x potential should be solid enough to draw some attention. The bonus round is just as much a hit or miss as the game itself, and the sooner you can get the symbols upgraded the more likely you are to skyrocket your winnings.
