Pragmatic Play has decided to make a sequel to their 2017 release, Panda's Fortune. Simply called Panda's Fortune 2, this follow-up game doesn’t stray far from the original recipe. While the previous installment was set in a dense bamboo jungle, this version comes with a beautiful mountain landscape in the background.

The bamboo munching panda is still the wild symbol, and the game is still all about landing golden symbols to win jackpot prizes. The jackpots have increased a lot since the first game however, and the 5,000x potential is pretty solid. We hardly think this game will make much of a dent in the west however, as it’s clearly aimed at the asian market.

The panda serves as the wild symbol, and it can land on all reels except the first. The panda wild steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combos. All symbols except the scatter come with a special golden version.

The golden symbols differ from their regular siblings in only one way, they can trigger the jackpot cash prizes.

With at least 1 golden symbol involved in a 5oak win, you get a random cash prize between 5x and 4,998x your stake. A golden wild involved in a 3 or 4 of a kind win awards a 3x your stake prize. Golden premium symbols involved in a 3 or 4 of a kind win awards a 2x your stake cash prize, while you get a 1x prize for the same with low value symbols. The cash prizes come on top of the regular payout.

Games like this are made with a certain player segment in mind, and hint hint, it’s not your typical western punter. Panda's Fortune 2 is pretty similar to the original game, but the 5,000x potential, as well as the top jackpot prize, has been significantly boosted. Visually, it looks a tad more modern too, but it does not escape the generic asian slot vibe that hardly appeals to a western audience.

The golden symbol jackpot system seems a tad more complicated in this follow-up game perhaps, but you basically need a golden symbol in a 5oak win to have a shot at the top 4,998x jackpot. This adds some tension to the feature, but needless to say, you don’t win big most of the time. Fans of asian style slots might wanna give this one a spin, but for most western players it will probably pass completely unnoticed.
