This follow-up release is exactly the same as the original Snake Arena, except for the possibility of landing life-changing jackpots up to €10 million via the randomly triggered Dream Drop™ feature.

That’s nothing to sneeze at perhaps, but keep in mind that the RPT of the regular game is reduced to 82 %. A full 12 % goes to feed the 5 jackpots, giving you a total RTP of 94 %. The snake concept is still entertaining, but this release, like the original, is held back by the mediocre 2,758x potential. The growing snake-eating-knight bonus round has its moments, but it’s annoying when it ends abruptly as the snake stupidly eats its own tail.

The premium symbols pay between 4 and 20 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and both the knight symbol and any part of the snake serve as Wild symbols. The wilds step in for all regular pay symbols to help complete wins, and both wilds are also highly involved in the game’s bonus features.

You get the Wild Chase feature at random times in the base game. You will then see the snake head peek out at the top of the grid, while the knight is trying to avoid the snake at the bottom of the grid.

This happens up to 3 times in a row, and when the two appear on the same reel it turns wild. You’re guaranteed at least 1 wild reel when this feature triggers.

Landing the snake head on reel 1 at the same time as a knight symbol lands anywhere in view triggers the Bonus Round. The snake wild takes the moves towards the knight, and it will eat the knight wild which also increases its size. You get a new free spin each time the snake successfully consumes the knight, and the feature ends when the snake head collides with its own body.

If you manage to grow the snake so it fills reels 2 to 5 completely, you win a 1,000x extra prize on top of the regular winnings. Just to be clear, you get a new knight symbol on each new free spin, so the snake never runs out of its potential food source.

This would be more understandable if Snake Arena was a huge success to begin with, but that’s not really the case.

The very mediocre 2,758x potential might be part of the explanation, as the snake concept is kind of entertaining and fun. The good news is that the Dream Drop jackpot wheel can land you potentially life-changing payouts, but it comes with a price. The RTP outside of the jackpot game is only 82 %, which means that 12 % goes to feed the 5 progressive jackpots.

This is quite an expensive jackpot chase in other words.
