Thematically, Triple Thunder is about three mythic gods – Perun, Thor, and Zeus. They are all associated with thunder, so it makes a lot of sense to have them come together and combine their powers. It’s certainly a fresh idea, too, and we’re always happy to see themes that are this original.

There are 6 pay symbols in Triple Thunder, and they all look like coloured gems with certain emblems. Blue tornado symbols are worth the least, though they can net you up to 3x your bet in a large Cluster, while purple hammer symbols are worth the most. For specials, there are Scatters that can appear anywhere on the playing board and trigger the Free Spins feature.

On the gameplay side of things, there are your typical Cascades that usually go well with Cluster Pays systems. Things are no different here, and it’s possible to chain several wins together, since winning symbols are automatically removed and replaced as soon as they pay out.

All winning symbols and Scatters also get collected, and there are three God meters located to the left of the playing field. If you fill one of them, you’ll get its associated modifier.

First, there’s the Thor’s Thunder Giant modifier, which adds a massive symbol to the playing field. Then, there’s the Zeus’ Lightning Path modifier, which adds a lot of Wilds to the playing field. Finally, there’s the Perun’s Stormy Wild modifier, which creates even more Wilds.

Collecting 5 Scatters triggers the Free Spins feature, and you can actually pick a god and enjoy your favorite free spins flavor. Picking Thor will net you 10 free spins with a 2x win multiplier, while picking Zeus will give you 8 free spins with a 4x win multiplier. Perun, then, offers a combination of 4 free spins and an 8x win multiplier. Note that only the modifier associated with the chosen god is available during free spins.

Review Summary

All in all, Triple Thunder feels a bit like a missed opportunity. We certainly like its theme and the fact that there are three flavors of free spins to pick from, but we don’t appreciate its subpar math model.

Although it’s not outright shameful, it leaves a lot to be desired, and it means that the game is by no means as appealing as it could’ve been.
