Club Tropicana Review

It seems that Pragmatic Play partner, Reel Kingdom, has realized that their Big Bass Bonanza series has inflated its market value, so to speak, so they have now decided to create different themed clones instead. Club Tropicana is a reskin of Bigger Bass Blizzard, so you now have a relaxed tropical beach alternative to the frozen original. The fisherman is the bartender, and he’s still wearing a full beard and matching sunglasses.

He basically stands there on the left, looking too cool for school, doing bartender tricks with his mixer whenever you win. Landing cash prizes up to 4,000x is possible also in the base game, as 5 of a kind wins with cash symbols award the total prize. The bartender is the Wild Collector symbol in the bonus round, and he is collected to upgrade the cash symbol multiplier which also awards extra spins. The overall max win is 4,000x your stake, and this is a decent alternative for those who are tired of the fishing theme.

Club Tropicana Slot Features

You can pay 50 % extra per spin to increase the bonus round chances, and this is known as the Ante Bet feature. The premium symbols pay between 50 and 200 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and Money Symbols land with values between 2x and 4,000x your stake.

The sum total of the money symbol values are paid if you land 5 of a kind wins with money symbols.

You need at least 3 cocktail scatter symbols in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and you win 10, 15, or 20 free spins when you land 3, 4, or 5 triggering scatters, respectively. A hook can sometimes appear to pull up the crucial 3rd scatter if only 2 scatters land in the base game.

Wilds come into play in the bonus round only, and they step in for pay symbols to help complete wins. The bartender Wild is also the Collector symbol, and all instances will collect all money symbols in view. The wilds are collected by the cocktail meters seen on the right-hand side, and you need to collect 4 wilds to fill a meter. This gives you +10 extra spins, and it also increases the money symbol multiplier.

There are 3 meters to fill, which means you can get +30 extra spins in total, and the money symbol multiplier increases to x2, x3, and x10, respectively.

The multiplier becomes active only when the current number of free spins ends, and the new batch plays out. If you land 1 or 2 wilds in view with no money symbols, you will sometimes get money symbols randomly placed on the grid. Reels can also nudge in both wilds and money symbols at the end of a spin.

Finally, non-UK players, and anyone living in an eligible jurisdiction, can buy the bonus round for 100x the stake. This gives you 3 to 5 scatters on the spin that follows, and the bonus buy option comes with an RTP of 96.07 % (a tad lower than the overall RTP in other words). The bonus round has a hit rate of 1 in 121 spins when triggered organically.

The 200 Spins Club Tropicana Slot Experience

You get a decent taste of the base game, before we purchase and trigger the bonus round at 1:09 into the 3:16-minute highlight video. We got the minimum of 3 triggering scatters, which gave us 10 free spins for starters, and you can see for yourself how we fared by hitting the play button below.

Review Summary

The fisherman from Bigger Bass Blizzard is clearly multi-talented, as he has no trouble mixing drinks like a professional bartender. Club Tropicana is a refreshing installment if you’re tired of the fishing theme, but it’s also a straight up clone of said Bigger Bass Blizzard. It gives players a nice alternative though, and the contrast between the frozen original and this palm beach release could hardly be any starker.

Being able to collect money symbols also in the base game is a plus, but don’t expect to see the larger money symbols too often.

Club Tropicana Slot Review 1933

Up to 4,000x from a single money symbol is still a respectable sum, and the wild collector is collected to upgrade the bonus round as usual. It’s a bit confusing that you need 4 wilds per upgrade, as the drink gets filled when only 3 wilds are collected. Pay close attention to avoid disappointments in other words. Overall, a decent clone, but we doubt it will dethrone the original.

Pros

  • Win money prizes from 5-oak (up to 4,000x per symbol)
  • FS w/ wild collector multiplier upgrade meters
  • Win up to 4,000x (hit rate of 1 in 978,569)

Cons

  • Beware of adjustable RTP ranges
  • Reskin of Bigger Bass Blizzard
