Fruit Party 2 Review

Pragmatic Play has had great success with last year's original Fruit Party release, and Fruit Party 2 offers more of the same. Die hard fans might not be disappointed, but we had hoped for some extra modifiers and a higher potential to make this a more attractive prospect. As it stands however, we would rather play the original game than this sequel (see the review summary for our very compelling reasons why).

Visually, there isn’t much of a difference, and the base game is still about tumble wins with randomly progressive multipliers. The multiplier symbols are wild this time though, and they can go a lot higher in the bonus round than what’s on offer in the first game. However, that doesn’t help much when the max win is capped at the same 5,000x anyway, and high volatility makes this version less forgiving in addition.

The Tumble Reel feature triggers on every win, removing all symbols involved in a winning cluster from the grid. This makes room for new symbols to drop down to fill the empty positions, and this process repeats as long as you keep landing new winning clusters.

A wild might be generated randomly in empty positions after a fruit cluster win has exploded, and the wild steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning clusters. The wild appears with a multiplier starting at x2, and the multiplier value doubles for every winning cluster the wild is involved in (4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x and 256x).

You can thus get up to x256 multiplier wilds during base game play, and more than one wild multiplier in the same winning cluster means that their respective values are added together.

Wilds can also be used in several clusters at the same time, with the multiplier boosting all involved payouts.

The Bonus Round is triggered when you land 3 to 7 golden fruit scatters anywhere within the same Tumble sequence. This awards 10, 12, 15, 20 or 25 free spins, respectively, and you also get a scatter win up to 100x your stake up front. You win +5 extra spins whenever you land 3 scatters during the bonus round - with no upper limit. Wild multipliers start at x3 during the feature, and they can go as high as x729.

Non-UK players can take advantage of the Bonus Buy option, if it is indeed available in your jurisdiction. If you’re willing to pay 100x your stake, you will be awarded with 3 to 7 scatters on the next spin.

This will land you between 10 and 25 free spins, making it less predictable than many other games with a bonus buy feature.

Review Summary

Those who hoped for a few extra modifiers thrown into the fruity mix in this sequel are bound to be disappointed. We were hoping for that ourselves to be honest, but Fruit Party 2 is still a decent follow-up to the original hit game. You get a far juicer max wild multiplier in the bonus round in this version, but for whatever reason, Pragmatic has decided to keep the original’s 5,000x potential.

This is a big mistake in our view, as a sequel that’s bigger and bolder overall should also come with a more attractive and exciting potential than the first game. In addition, you’re more than 5 times less likely to crack said max win in this version, than in the original game. The high volatility makes it harder to stay afloat here too, so mathematically and logically, Fruit Part 2 just doesn’t make much sense.
